Dr. Wilson as SeaTrust Institute's Representative at World Climate Meetings in Copenhagen at COP 15

On December 7-18, world leaders meet in Denmark for the most critical climate negotiations and conversations of our time, the United Nations UNFCCC COP 15. SeaTrust Institute has been formally admitted as an observer organization, research NGO (non governmental organization). Dr. Lynn Wilson will represent SeaTrust Institute in these meetings.
One goal for SeaTrust Institute's participation is to collaborate with other organizations to encourage delegates to more fully recognize human health concerns in the formal negotiations. The nature and degree of focus of the discussions on CO2 emissions during many of the pre-conference negotiations signals a need for civil society viewpoints on human health and climate to be formally expressed. As a research-oriented NGO, SeaTrust's role is to approach the issue through scientific questioning and advice rather than political advocacy.
In addition, meetings with developing country partners from countries invited to participate in the upcoming SeaTrust Institute / IGI Global Consortium on Climate Change and Population Health are being arranged to work with them to develop their contribution potential and begin address any issues (such as technology access, cultural or organizational issues) they may encounter in participating.
